Things To Do in Austin

Live Music

Austin’s celebrated live music scene includes hundreds of live music venues with just about every style represented; this is the Live Music Capital of the World after all! We recommend checking out one of Austin’s many iconic music venues. A few favorites include The Saxon Pub, Hotel Vegas, The Elephant Room and The White Horse for a little two-steppin’ fun!

LBJ National Historical Park

The National Park in Austin’s Backyard celebrates the life and legacy of Lyndon B. Johnson, 36th President of the United States. From his ancestors’ first cabin on the Texas frontier to the famed “Texas White House,” still Lady Bird Johnson’s home, it’s all still here in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, less than one hour from Austin.

Begin your day trip at the National Park Visitor Center, located in Johnson City, 2 blocks south of U.S. Highway 290. The Center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. View two movies about the Johnson Administration and Ladybird Johnson, re-live the 1960s in the permanent exhibit gallery, and enjoy special displays in the temporary gallery.

Austin Nature and Science Center

Located on the western edge of Zilker Park, the Austin Nature and Science Center (ANSC) is dedicated to the exploration of the natural world. Since 1960, ANSC has provided nature exhibits, education programs and recreation resources for countless visitors, teachers and children of all ages.

Texas Hill Country

Extend your trip to Austin to explore the beautiful Texas Hill Country, where historic towns and more than two dozen vineyards meet a laid-back and soulful lifestyle. There are many towns to explore, covering over 14,000 square miles. A fun day trip from the Hilton Austin, or spend the night in one of the many beautiful hill country resorts.
